Bring born and bought up in Kashmir, I was amused that #kashmiriPandits never used this line for their funeral and instead used a sentence
CHINTAYONI APARADHA SHIV SHIV SHAMBU
It was quite often done in sonorous musical way with every cremation. As I learnt my way to be corrected recently by Shri Bhushan Koul Deep. Quoting him on whats-app
तमि सातॖ छि स्यठाह सॗत्यवऻल्य ग़लथॖय परान मगर तथ मोकस प्यठ कऻन्सि कॆंह वनुन छु नॖ शूबान।
At time of Cremation, most Kashmiri people pronounce it wrongly but its against mannerism to correct them at crematorium, so the broken version went on. Exact words are as follow
"क्षन्तव्यो मेपराध: शिव शिव शंभू"
KhyentYomeh Apraadha , Shiv Shiv Shambhu
म्यऻन्यन कऺर्यमॖत्यन अपरादन (पापन) क्षमा कर तॖ यमिस ॳस्य सॗत्य छि ॳम्यसॖन्द्यन पापन ति क्षमा (माफ़) करॖन्य शिव जियस व्यनती करान।
Oh Lord Shiva, forgive our sins & also forgive the sins of one, who is dead today that may have been done in this material world
I thought to document it as part of our cultural Samskar which should be passed to progeny !
